2018 Travel Update
By Howard
2018 is turning out to be One Year of Walt Disney World light. From November 2015 to October 2016 we traveled to Walt Disney World six times, which is not a big deal if you live in Ocala, Florida. However, residing in South Central Pennsylvania we were doing the trips we were pretty proud of ourselves in squeezing so much Mouse, and thinking back on it more objectively shows we have a bit of a disease.
Our original intent was to take 2017 off from Disney, and do some other vacation destinations. We spent a week at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic doing nothing but sitting on a beach, relaxing, and drinking beer. We had planned on traveling to Dollywood too, but we became serious in the planning of the trip we too late to book at Dolly's Dreammore resort. We really want to checkout Ms. Parton's hospitality. Therefore, that trip has been shelved for the time being. Punta Cana was great as always. We hope to return soon-ish within a couple of years.
We also ended up not going an entire year without Disney in 2017, because see above. We have some sort Disney bug that just keeps calling to us. Also, we are weak. Also, I am convinced our friends Holly and Benn used the Jedi mind trick on us to trek down to the World when for their October trip. Whatever the reason we did a quick two night stay in April, and a four night stay in October. (Episodes to drop in the future. All in good time.)
2018. We are not going to equal our six trips from 2015 to 2016 in the coming year. However, we have four trips planned and in various stages of booking and planning for 2018. We have two three night stays on the calendar with one for March and one for July. We have a longer week or so stay partially booked for May and what will likely be a little less than a week for September. Right now I am adamant that is all the Disney we will be doing for 2018. Yes. September is pretty early in the year to make such pronouncements with all of the Fall and Christmas season calling to us. We are not even at 2018 yet. That is what is on our calendar for 2018 at the moment.
