Retirement.
We have decided to retire Underground Teapot after six and a half years. The channel has run its course. After we finally broke down and purchased our first annual passes in November 2015, we started this channel for our own personal enjoyment, memories, and to share with others our "One Year of Disney." Little did we expect to continue the channel for nearly six times longer, but we have enjoyed it and the feedback we have received.
Just to quell any speculation: we are still quite happily married, nor are we facing any health or financial challenges. We still enjoy traveling and plan to continue traveling to Walt Disney World far too often than a normal well-adjusted couple should, as well as to other places. We have documented most of our trips, but over the years, we also experimented in only sharing bits of some trips and other outings not at all. However, things are starting to get repetitive, and our recent more laid back approach to visiting Disney World with less attractions and more plain hanging out does not make for the most riveting content.
We sincerely thank each and every person who decided to watch, comment and share our trips with us. We truly appreciate it. We tried mighty hard to be genuine and share not only the good and beautiful, but the bad and disappointing bits that cropped up from time to time. We hope we succeeded.
Finally, the reason we are taking down the previously published content is for long term peace of mind. While this is a tiny channel, the notion that in a few years some random video of ours could gain traction in a negative way just does not seem worth the risk or hassle. We wish we felt differently about the social media landscape, but it is a minefield that we would like to avoid.
Thanks again for watching. You can still find us at @Under_Tea on Twitter where we may post from time to time.
Warmest Regards,
Howard and Leah (Teddy too)
RIP Ike
